PAUL HOLMES MORTON
Lutenist, theorbist, banjoist, guitarist, lyricist, composer, arranger, vocalist, historical archeologist, soloist, chamber musician; the music of Paul Holmes Morton is defined less by genre than by a fascination with history, a cultivation of creativity, and a belief that music once born does not die or grow old. With a technical pallet of colors ranging from the
Florentine Camerata to modern Americana, Paul follows the thread of resonant evolution, his interpretations and performances stained with the resin left by countless musics present and not yet passed. |

Disordering the Attic.
'Disordering the Attic' is Fiona's duo with Paul Holmes Morton (guitars, theorbo, banjo, dulcimer). Hailing from Classically-trained and traditional music backgrounds, the duo presents intimate concerts and house shows combining Baroque, 20th and 21st-century art song (re-scored for plucked instruments), American and Celtic folk, popular, and original music.

Ruckus.
Ruckus is a new baroque band with a fresh, visceral approach to early music. The ensemble's debut earned widespread critical acclaim: "achingly delicate one moment, incisive and punchy the next" (The New York Times), and "superb" (Opera News). Ruckus' core members form a continuo group, the baroque equivalent of a rhythm section: guitars, keyboards, cello, bassoon and bass. The ensemble aims to fuse the early-music movement's questioningly creative spirit with the grit, groove and jangle of American roots music, creating a unique sound of "rough-edged intensity" (The New Yorker). www.ruckusearlymusic.org ---------------------//---------------------- New from Flowers of the Rhododendron: Debut studio EP released! The Chivalrous Crickets.
The cricket, as described in the Medieval Bestiary, is "an animal that loves to sing, forgetting all else". A cross pollination between contemporary folk and its ancestral heritage in the Baroque, the Chivalrous Crickets interweave traditional music of the British isles, Celtic nations, and Appalachia with ancient european court song. Chivalrous programs are presented through research, arrangement, and composition to tell stories of history through historical song. www.chivalrouscrickets.com. --------------------//-------------------- New Release: A Chivalrous Cricketmas - volume 1 of at least 2 of traditional songs and tunes freshly interpreted along with new compositions celebrating the joys and merriments of Christmas, Saturnalia, and Winter himself.
